Bozo Privacy Policy

Bozo is a small app for running a friend-group betting pool. This page explains what information the app collects and how it's used.

What we collect

• Sign in with Apple: your Apple-provided user identifier and the email address you choose to share (which may be a private relay address).
• Display name: the name you enter when you join a pool.
• Pool and pick data: pools you create or join, and the picks you make (league, game, team, line, odds).
• Ticket photos: if you're the round's funder, the photo of the sportsbook ticket you upload.
• Push notification token: a device token used only to deliver reminders to you.

How it's used

Solely to run the app's core features: keeping pools and picks in sync across members, settling rounds, and sending reminder notifications. There is no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and your data is never sold.

Who can see it

Pool and pick data is visible to members of the same pool, as part of the app's normal functioning.

There is one exception: the app's global leaderboard shows the highest-odds winning parlays from across all pools. An entry there shows the pool's name, the text of its picks, and the display name of whoever made each pick. That is all it shows about a person — no email address, no account identifier, and no profile to open or way to contact them. A companion board, Global Bozos, counts how many rounds each display name has funded across all pools.

A pool's admin can switch that off for the whole pool: marking a pool private in its settings keeps its winning parlays off the global leaderboard and stops its rounds counting toward Global Bozos, retroactively as well as going forward. Otherwise, keep your display name and your pool's name free of anything you wouldn't want other users to read.

Where it's stored

Data is stored with Supabase, our backend infrastructure provider. Bozo also queries ESPN's public scoreboard data to sync real game schedules and scores — this is a one-way, server-side lookup and doesn't involve sending any of your personal data to ESPN.

Deleting your data

You can remove yourself from a pool at any time in the app. To delete your account outright, go to Account → Delete account. That permanently removes your profile, your memberships, your picks, and any ticket photos you uploaded. Pools you run are handed to their longest-standing member, or deleted if you were the only member. It can't be undone.

Reporting and blocking

Every entry on the global leaderboard can be reported from the app, and any member of a pool you're in can be reported or blocked from that pool's member list. Blocking hides that person's name and custom bet text from you and keeps their pools off your global leaderboard. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
